DMZ

(2014-2016)

The REAL DMZ PROJECT is a contemporary art project based at the Art Sonje Center in Seoul, South Korea, that offers a critical perspecive on the paradoxes and ironies of Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea. I was invited to participate in 2014 - 2015, making a first exploratory trip and then returning for a 3 week residency in the village of Yangjiri, which is along the edge of the DMZ near the town of Cheorwon.
