THE GOWANUS

(2010-2019)

The Gowanus Canal, in Brooklyn, NY, is a cut into the urban space dating back to the heyday of Industrialization. In this detritus of modernity it is hard to distinguish between the constructed and the natural, between landscape and nature.

Living by the canal, I photographed and videographed the waterway, the banks of the canal, and the surrounding neighborhood. These are a few of the resulting works.
